Common Medications Used to Treat BPD

Pharmacological treatment of borderline personality disorder focuses on improving patients' self-control and quality of life by controlling symptoms such as emotional instability, depression, and anxiety. Commonly used medications include

  • Antidepressants, such as selective 5-hydroxytryptamine reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), 5-hydroxytryptamine and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs), and tricyclic antidepressants.
  • Antipsychotics are used to control symptoms such as loss of emotional control and violent tendencies.
  • Mood stabilizers and anticonvulsants are used to treat the aggressive symptoms of BPD.

It is important to note that medication cannot be used as a treatment for borderline personality disorder alone and should be combined with psychotherapy to better improve the patient's symptoms and quality of life.

How Can We Help?

Pathophysiologic Mechanism Research Services of Borderline Personality Disorder

We help our clients study the neurobiological mechanisms of BPD through animal models, including the neuroendocrine system, changes in the structure and function of brain regions, and specific genetic changes. In addition, we study the genetic and environmental factors associated with the disease. Through neuroimaging techniques, electrophysiological analyses and molecular biological analyses, we help you explore the interactions between these factors in depth to facilitate the development and application of more precise and effective treatments.

Preclinical Screening and Evaluation Services for Borderline Personality Disorder Medications

Given the limitations of current BPD pharmacotherapy, there is an urgent need to investigate potential new therapeutic targets, including opioids and neuropeptides such as pressors, as well as drugs designed to ameliorate the biological effects of early-life stress. Ace Therapeutics provides preclinical development services for anti-BPD drugs. We utilize animal models to help you screen potential BPD drugs and conduct comprehensive analyses of their efficacy, safety, toxicological properties, and pharmacokinetic properties. Our one-stop screening and evaluation services are designed to help you accelerate your BPD drug development process.

Diagnostic Method Development Service for Borderline Personality Disorder

We explore the biomarkers and pathological mechanisms of borderline personality disorder (BPD) through advanced molecular biology techniques, neuroimaging techniques, and behavioral tests. Through rigorous experimental manipulation and data analysis, we validate the validity and reliability of diagnostic methods to develop more accurate diagnostic methods for BPD.
