Description | Porcine Brain Microvascular Endothelial Cells from Ace Therapeutics are isolated from healthy porcine brain tissue. Porcine Brain Microvascular Endothelial Cells are grown in T25 tissue culture flasks pre-coated with a gelatin-based solution for 0.5 hours and incubated in Ace Therapeutics’s Culture Complete Growth Medium generally for 3-7 days. Cultures are then expanded. Prior to shipping, cells are detached from flasks and immediately cryo-preserved in vials. Each vial contains at least 1×10^6 cells per ml and is delivered frozen. |
Applications | Porcine Brain Microvascular Endothelial Cells can be used in assays of cell-to-cell adhesion, migration, vascular tube formation, or transendothelial resistance (TER). |
Quality Control | Porcine Brain Microvascular Endothelial Cells test negative for bacteria, yeast, fungi, and mycoplasma. |
Shipping and Storage | Ace Therapeutics ships frozen cells using dry ice. Upon receiving the frozen cells, immediately move them into liquid nitrogen (-180 °C) for storage. Note: Never can cells be kept at -20 °C, and repeated freezing and thawing of cells is not recommended. |
