Type I collagen is found in connective tissues and is the major component of tensile strength of the extracellular matrix (ECM). The product is widely used as a thin layer on tissue-culture surfaces to enhance the attachment and proliferation of a variety of cells including endothelial cells, fibroblasts, hepatocytes, epithelial cells, etc. In addition, the product can self-assemble into a 3-D supramolecular gel in vitro as an ideal biological scaffold.

Rat Tail Tendon Collagen Type I, 5mg/ml is prepared by the method of Birkedal-Hansen through acetic acid extraction, sodium chloride precipitation, disodium hydrogen phosphate precipitation, and other steps. This product can be used to coat cell culture vessels and culture some cells that are difficult to adhere to in ordinary cell culture vessels. This product is derived from a mouse tail, dissolved in 0.02M HAc solution, and the purity is greater than 90% as determined by SDS-PAGE, and it is sterile.

Cultrex Rat Collagen I, Low Viscosity from Ace Therapeutics is a purified stromal extracellular matrix protein from rat tail tendons. This product is provided at a standard concentration that is lower in viscosity, making it easier to work with.

Human Collagen Type IV from Human Cell Culture from Ace Therapeutics is derived from human placenta.

Cultrex 3-D Culture Matrix Collagen I from Ace Therapeutics is purified from rat tail tendon with high concentrations. This product is capable of polymerizing to form hydrogels and is a purified matrix ECM protein specifically designed and developed for 3D culture.

Collagens Type IV is derived from bovine tissue treated with pepsin. This product does not gel and needs to be mixed with collagen type I-A.
