Jejunoileitis Research Services
Jejunoileitis is a form of Crohn's disease which causes inflammation in the jejunum (the upper half of the small intestine). Patients with jejunoileal Crohn's disease present with more stricturing disease than, for example, patients with ileocolonic Crohn's disease. The underlying mechanism of this fibrostenotic phenotype is incompletely understood. Classic symptoms of stricture include abdominal pain, nausea, and, in severe cases, vomiting. Moreover, patients with jejunoileitis are more likely to experience complications, including fistulization, and most commonly, intestinal obstruction. More research is needed to tackle this intractable disease.
Customized Studies for Jejunoileitis
With years of experience dedicated to preclinical Crohn's disease research, we have a deep understanding of preclinical testing approaches for the therapy of jejunoileitis. Combined with our study design consulting, well-characterized animal models, and extensive assays, Ace Therapeutics strengthens your preclinical jejunoileitis research.
Animal Models of Jejunoileitis
Ace Therapeutics provides reliable animal models to simulate jejunoileitis, allowing us to help our clients conduct efficacy studies of small molecules, biologics, cell therapies, diagnostics, and delivery technologies.
Our models meet the following stringent characterization and validation criteria before being used to screen therapeutic candidates for jejunoileitis.
- Jejunoileitis pathology can reproduce the induction within the limits of variation, thus allowing candidate screening programs to be conducted with statistical power to allow for specific discovery and development decisions.
- The induced jejunoileitis pathology can be measured or inferred from validated and relevant endpoints.
Diagnostic Development Services for Jejunoileitis
Ace Therapeutics provides a range of research services including cell-based assays and genomics, to identify and validate therapeutic targets and biomarkers for jejunoileitis. We specialize in utilizing these services to help clients develop novel diagnostic techniques for jejunoileitis, including gadolinium enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (GMRI), enteroscopy, and capsule endoscopy.
