Enzyme Activity Analysis in Psychiatry

Enzyme Activity Analysis in Psychiatry

Inquiry

Ace Therapeutics provides enzyme activity analysis services for the study of various psychiatric disorders, and we are committed to helping researchers identify biomarkers and unravel the pathogenesis of psychiatric disorders.

Introduction of Enzyme Activity Analysis in Psychiatry

Most catalytic biological processes are carried out by enzymes. Enzymes are essential for metabolic processes, cell signaling and regulation, cell division and apoptosis. In addition, enzymatic reactions play an important role in chemical and post-translational modifications of molecules or proteins. It has been reported that reduced glutathione peroxidase activity may contribute to neurological soft signs during schizophrenic episodes and that antipsychotic medication attenuates the reduced activity of superoxide dismutase and catalase, but not the reduced activity of glutathione peroxidase and neurological soft signs.

Enzyme Activity Analysis Services

Ace Therapeutics has extensive experience in a variety of enzyme activity assays. We can provide tests for enzyme activities related to psychiatric disorders, including but not limited to NDEL1 oligopeptidase, methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR), CYP2C19 enzyme, phospholipase A2, angiotensin I-converting enzyme (ACE), antioxidant enzymes, telomerase, salivary alpha-amylase, serum prolidase, catechol-O-methyltransferase (COMT), 6-phosphoglucose dehydrogenase, citrate synthase (CS).

We offer a wide range of test methods to measure enzyme activity, and we can even perform the assay in a customized manner to meet your needs.

Enzymes are attractive targets for drug therapy, as dysregulated enzyme activity can lead to disease. Enzyme activity assays are of great importance in the development of new drugs and clinical treatments for anti-psychotic diseases. In combination with our advanced technology and facilities, I can provide you with enzyme activity assay services including but not limited to

  • Kinetic evaluation of enzyme activity and inhibition
  • Inhibitor screening and validation
  • Substrate analysis to analyze enzyme selectivity
  • Reversibility of enzyme inhibition

What Can We Help You Achieve in Psychiatry with Enzyme Activity Analysis?

  • Investigating the role of CYP2C19 enzymes in depression and functional and morphological changes in the brain
  • Investigating the potential relationship between methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) activity and folate-related function in specific psychiatric disorders
  • Investigating the differences in the most common cytochrome P450 isozymes associated with the metabolism of psychotropic drugs (antidepressants, antipsychotics and mood stabilizers) in different populations
  • Understanding autonomic nervous system disorders in psychiatric disorders
  • Investigating the role of NDEL1 in the pathophysiology of chronic schizophrenia

Why Choose Us?

  • High throughput enzyme assay
  • Wide range of incubation temperatures
  • Intelligent incubation temperature and precise temperature control
  • Flexible method parameters for a wide range of enzyme types

Ace Therapeutics provides activity assays for enzymes associated with psychiatric disorders and offers customized services. We provide high quality analytical services required throughout the preclinical development of antipsychotic drugs. We welcome projects of any size, and our scientists will be happy to help you determine the best solution for your project, so please feel free to make an inquiry.
