Computed Tomography (CT) in Psychiatry

Computed Tomography (CT) in Psychiatry

Inquiry

Ace Therapeutics offers cutting-edge computed tomography (CT) imaging technology. Our imaging technology is helping scientists around the world conduct research on psychiatric disorders including autism, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and depression. Our team can provide expertise when you need comprehensive preclinical testing of antipsychotic drugs.

Introduction of Computed Tomography (CT) in Psychiatry

CT scans have been widely used as an investigative tool for many psychiatric disorders. Neuroimaging can be divided into two main categories: structural imaging (assessing the structural anatomy of the brain) and functional imaging (assessing the physiological function of the brain). In psychiatry, functional neuroimaging is used to enhance preclinical evidence to confirm psychiatric diagnoses. ct is a commonly used imaging technique to study dynamic biological processes in living animals, thus helping scientists to better understand the progression and treatment of psychiatric disorders.

CT Services

Thousands of Ace Therapeutics customers around the world rely on our advanced imaging technology to study dynamic biological processes in living animals. To better understand the progression and treatment of psychiatric disorders, you can use our CT imaging to perform quantitative 3D tomographic imaging of radioactive tracers, bone and soft tissue. We offer a complete solution, from subject and study handling, to scan execution, image reconstruction co-registration and image fusion, data analysis and automated report generation.

What Can We Help You Achieve in Psychiatry with CT?

  • Examination of cerebral atrophy in schizophrenia
  • Measurement of central atrophy, cortical atrophy, cerebellar atrophy and density
  • Study of schizophrenia and brain asymmetry
  • Linear and planimetric measurements of brain atrophy
  • Study of the relationship between psychosis and organic brain syndrome
  • Study of pineal gland calcification in schizophrenia
  • Study of the structure and function of the brain
  • Diagnosis of psychiatric disorders such as anorexia nervosa
  • Part I ventricular and cerebral sulcus measurements in bipolar disorder
  • Discovery of important information about schizophrenia, alcoholism and chronic organic reactions
  • Research on the underlying neural mechanisms of mental illness
  • Analysis of common activation areas (amygdala, insula) in post-traumatic stress disorder, social phobia and specific phobias

Our Advantages

  • More detectors, better imaging: acquire more data in less time and even acquire imaging without reducing the heart rate of preclinical models.
  • Dual energy/spectral acquisition: analyze solids in anatomical structures, such as vascular calcification.
  • Interventional models: allows CT interventional procedures, including indoor screening.

Ace Therapeutics uses CT imaging to both map the pathways of drugs throughout the body over time and to monitor the efficacy of anti-psychotic drugs. Our advanced imaging capabilities support drug researchers in their ability to develop potential antipsychotic drugs through preclinical studies, helping researchers achieve high-throughput preclinical translational studies that lead to faster and more effective development of future therapies. If you are interested in preclinical CT imaging services, please feel free to make an inquiry.
