Description
Citalopram Hydrobromide is an antidepressant drug of the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) class. It has U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval to treat major depression and is prescribed off-label for other conditions. As a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor, citalopram hydrobromide selectively inhibits the CNS neuronal reuptake of serotonin, thereby potentiating serotonergic activity in the central nervous system.
