- Exploration of Direct Ethanol-mediated Liver Injury in ALD
In view of the direct damaging effects of ethanol and its metabolites such as acetaldehyde on the organism, we provide a comprehensive exploration service from different perspectives.
- We will establish animal models of chronic ethanol overexposure and perform in-depth testing and evaluation of the liver in terms of pathomorphology, lipid levels, and biomarkers of oxidative stress. We will also combine multi-omics studies to identify potential pathogenic mechanisms.
- To address the effects of acetaldehyde on mitochondrial and hepatocyte function, we will combine proteomics and metabolomics to explore the effects of accumulated acetaldehyde on mitochondria and the liver.
- For DAMP release from damaged hepatocytes, we will delve into specific mechanisms in terms of its effects on pro-inflammatory cytokines, immune cell localization to the site of injury, and inflammatory vesicles.
- Exploration of Inflammatory Immune Response in ALD

- Given that innate immune responses play a role in the early stages of ALD, we will perform a comprehensive evaluation and assay for innate immune responses, including but not limited to activation of relevant signaling pathways, complement system responses, and changes in cytokine levels.
- Given that the occurrence of lipid peroxidation in ALD further stimulates adaptive immunity, we will examine the metabolites of lipid peroxidation by metabolomics and analyze differential metabolites. At the same time, we will examine the number of immune cells and changes in the levels of pro-inflammatory factors in liver inflammation.
- Exploration of the Intestine in ALD
As research progresses, it is found that the intestine plays a crucial role in liver disease. We provide comprehensive basic research services from different research perspectives, including but not limited to intestinal barrier function and the enterohepatic axis.
- Given that zinc deficiency damages the advocacy barrier, we offer different services to explore the damage of zinc deficiency on the intestinal barrier, including but not limited to PCR techniques, protein qualitative and quantitative assay techniques, and histological techniques.
- Given the important regulatory role of the enterohepatic axis in the liver, we will provide macro-genomic analysis techniques, metabolomics techniques, etc. to investigate in depth the mechanisms of the role of gut microbes in ALD.
