Target Information
Target Name ATRAID
UniProt No. Q6UW56
Gene ID 51374
Gene Description Apoptosis related protein 3, also known as C2orf28, is a membrane protein identified in HL-60 cells treated with all-trans retinoic acid and was later found to be induced by ATRA in other sensitive cell lines. APR3 is also up-regulated by NFAT and NF-κB activities. Regulation of APR3 by ATRA suggests a role in cell differentiation, but the mechanism of action is still unclear. Overexpression of APR3 can inhibit proliferation by inducing G1/S cell cycle arrest and decreasing expression of cyclin D1. APR3 has also been shown to interact with NELL-1 to regulate osteoblast differentiation.
