Description | Porcine IL-1α ELISA Kit is an in-vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of Porcine IL-1α in serum, plasma and cell culture supernatants. This assay employs an antibody specific for Porcine IL-1α coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and IL-1α present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed, and biotinylated anti-Porcine IL-1α antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of IL-1α bound. |

Target Description | Produced by activated macrophages, IL-1 stimulates thymocyte proliferation by inducing IL-2 release, B-cell maturation and proliferation, and fibroblast growth factor activity. IL-1 proteins are involved in the inflammatory response, being identified as endogenous pyrogens, and are reported to stimulate the release of prostaglandin and collagenase from synovial cells. |
