Product Name | Horse IL-1α ELISA Kit |
Species | Horse |
Description | Horse IL-1α ELISA Kit is designed for the quantitative determination of Horse IL-1α in cell culture supernatants, plasma and serum samples. This assay employs an antibody specific for IL-1α coated on a 96-well plate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and IL-1α present in a sample is bound to the wells by the immobilized antibody. The wells are washed and biotinylated anti-Horse IL-1α antibody is added. After washing away unbound biotinylated antibody, HRP-conjugated streptavidin is pipetted to the wells. The wells are again washed, a TMB substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of IL-1α bound. |

Target Description | Produced by activated macrophages, IL-1 stimulates thymocyte proliferation by inducing IL-2 release, B-cell maturation and proliferation, and fibroblast growth factor activity. IL-1 proteins are involved in the inflammatory response, being identified as endogenous pyrogens, and are reported to stimulate the release of prostaglandin and collagenase from synovial cells. |
